London

London Sunrise

This is Big Ben's east face as viewed from the south bank of the Thames River.  The sun had just climbed above the horizon painting one of the world's most beautiful clocks gold.

Ben and Eye

Looking northeast the Millennium Wheel stands in the distance behind Big Ben. The giant Ferris wheel is also known as the London Eye.

Tower Bridge at Sunset

This view and what I consider the best view of Tower bridge is from the north bank of the Thames river. I'm standing on the grounds of the Tower of London and the sun is setting casting perfect light on this jewel of a bridge.

Tower Bridge at Dusk

Built in 1894 this gorgeous drawbridge opens and closes more than 500 times a year.

Tower Bridge at Night

There is a footpath across the bridge which makes for a great stroll as the sun sets.

Tower Bridge Black & White

As I mentioned earlier I was photographing the bridge from the grounds of the Tower of London. Shortly after darkness had set in I was asked to leave by one of the Tower's guards. It was closing time.

The London Eye

The highlight of this view from the north bank of the Thames is the London Eye, lit with blue lights, standing tall against London's skyline.

The London Eye

I took this photo standing on the steps at the northwest corner of the Westminster Bridge. Evening showers helped to give the staircase a glossy shine.

On Guard

I enjoy watching the changing ceremony of the Horse Guards more than the Buckingham Palace guards. It's more accessible for viewing with far less spectators.

The Gherkin

This building located in London's financial district is nicknamed the Gherkin. I think it is the most unusual building I have ever seen anywhere in the world and thought it was worthy of inclusion in my collection of London photographs.
